This work is for my dear friend, Claire Robinson, who died unexpectedly on August 4, 2023 from a brain tumor that resulted in a seizure. Claire was one of the first people I told about my clairvoyant training. A trained NASA scientist, she validated me with intrigue and curiosity. I am extremely grateful to Claire for recognizing my superpowers before I knew how to see them in myself. She was the most complete friendship I have ever had. And while this work reflects 100% of my views, experiences, and analysis, I owe and dedicate my work to Claire.
While she never displayed any signs or symptoms of the brain tumor leading up to her death, I think she must have had a premonition. Before she died, we bonded over medical memoirs like “The Neuroscientist Who Lost Her Mind” and “I Am I Am I Am: A Woman’s Seventeen Brushes with Death.” Given my personal story, and events that shaped Claire’s life, we grew fascinated by other people’s accounts of overcoming health related losses. As such, I am writing a book to honor Claire. It is also a roadmap to a younger version of myself who did not know how to grieve.
For my ancestors who experienced traumatic losses, and whose generations did not provide them with the resourcing required to heal, I dedicate my healing to you. For my great grandfather, who was murdered at gun point, I hope your spirit found peace. For my grandfathers, I hope you were reunited with your lost loved ones. For my uncle, I hope your spirit can rest now knowing that I no longer fear we share the same gene mutation for neurodegenerative diseases. And for my grandmothers, whose entire existences were pathologized. We are rewriting the narrative.
